What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Jr. Staff Accountant to join their finance team in Sunrise, FL. This role is ideal for someone with 2–3 years of hands-on accounting experience who wants to build expertise across multi-entity and multi-currency accounting, month-end close tasks, reconciliations, and consolidated reporting.
- Record and post journal entries to support monthly accounting activity.
- Prepare and reconcile general ledger accounts (cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, intercompany balances).
- Maintain accounting records in domestic and foreign currencies and apply exchange rates accurately.
- Track and reconcile intercompany transactions across related entities.
- Assist with consolidated financial reporting and investigate variances.
- Support month-end close by preparing schedules, validating balances, and ensuring documentation is audit-ready.
- Compile financial data from multiple entities for internal analysis and management requests.
- Prepare backup materials for audits, tax inquiries, and regulatory reporting while following internal controls.
- Participate in process improvement and accounting-system or reporting projects as needed.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 2–3 years of accounting experience in a hands-on role.
- Practical experience with journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and month‑end close.
- Knowledge of multi-currency accounting and applying foreign exchange rates.
- Experience with intercompany accounting in a multi-entity environment.
- Familiarity with U.S. GAAP and core financial reporting principles.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks and strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, lookup functions).
- Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and ability to manage deadlines with limited supervision.
