JR Software Engineer
The Jr Software Engineer at Confidential Client is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining software for scientific and engineering applications. What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a Jr. Software Engineer to help design, develop, test, and maintain software used for scientific and engineering applications that support mission-focused programs. You’ll work with cleared engineering teams to implement features, troubleshoot issues, and produce high-quality code and documentation.
- Create prototypes and perform internal testing of software products
- Respond to software discrepancies against documented requirements and provide resolutions
- Evaluate software maintainability and verify adherence to user and mission requirements
- Produce program design artifacts and write code in accordance with mission standards
- Generate and update project and system documentation
- Analyze systems and develop computer specifications for scientific/engineering applications
- Encode, test, debug, and install operating programs and procedures
- Collaborate with engineers on the design, development, and use of scientific/engineering data processing systems software
- Provide analysis for development and implementation of utility, development, and diagnostic software
- Participate in development of engineering test strategies, devices, and systems
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required
- Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to successfully obtain a CI Polygraph
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field with 0–3 years related experience; OR AA with 3 years related experience; OR in lieu of formal education, 10 years related experience (specific contract requirements may prevail)
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and documentation skills
- Ability to work on mission-focused teams with disciplined software development and configuration management practices
Preferred (if listed by the hiring team)
- Experience supporting scientific or engineering applications
- Familiarity with software life-cycle processes in government or defense contracts
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range for Beavercreek, OH: $81,900.00 - $100,100.00 (the offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s work location, knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience, clearance level, contract affordability and in consideration of internal parity)
- Additional compensation may include bonuses, sign-on, relocation benefits, short- and long-term incentives depending on role and eligibility
