Jr Software Engineer
The Jr Software Engineer at Confidential Client will develop, test, and maintain software applications for HVAC control systems using modern web technologies. This role involves collaborating with R&D teams across the US and HQ, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to new product introductions to support LG's market leadership in North America. The position requires a proactive mindset, problem-solving skills, and occasional domestic and international travel.

What You’ll Do
This early-career engineering role supports the HVAC Controls R&D team. You will help develop, test, and maintain control software, HMIs, and integration work that supports North American product lines.
- Contribute to design, development, testing, and maintenance of applications using modern web technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS).
- Build and maintain test infrastructure to reproduce escalated issues and help determine root cause with US and HQ teams.
- Participate across the product lifecycle: requirements, implementation, testing, release notes, and post-release enhancements.
- Translate voice-of-customer (VoC) feedback into technical requirements and scope documents (SRS).
- Manage version control and release artifacts for software components.
- Collaborate with R&D, product, and HQ teams on NPI projects and technical escalations.
- Monitor market trends for controls and automation technologies and recommend improvements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent degree.
- At least 1 year of hands-on software development experience with web technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS). Internship or co-op experience counts toward this.
- Internship or co-op experience in electronics/controller integration is required.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work effectively across multicultural teams and with HQ colleagues.
- Positive, continuous-learning mindset and strong attention to detail.
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Willingness to travel occasionally (domestic/international).
Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills
- Experience with building or integrating control systems (BACnet, LON, Modbus).
- Familiarity with home automation ecosystems (Apple HomeKit, Google Home).
- API integration experience and cloud protocols (MQTT, LoRaWAN).
- Embedded systems and microcontroller programming experience.
- Knowledge of VRF or ductless mini-split HVAC systems.
- Ability to set up PCBA/product-level electrical test environments.
Compensation & Benefits
- Recruiting range: $65,000 — $67,000 USD (base annual).
