What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring a Jr. Naval Architect to join an in-house engineering team supporting both prototype and production builds. This entry-level role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career engineer who will work under senior supervision and contribute to naval architecture and marine engineering tasks in a manufacturing environment.
- Support weight estimates, weight monitoring, hydrostatics, and stability analysis
- Assist with hull form development and structural design for high-speed craft
- Contribute to systems design, fixturing design, and bill of materials creation
- Produce functional and detail design drawings and 3-D CAD models
- Participate in first-article refinements and the "red line" process for continuous improvement
- Help develop procedures, presentations, and test documentation
- Apply rules-based guidance (ABYC, ABS, NAVSEA, CE) and adapt approaches for manufacturability
- Coordinate design-related production issue resolution with project management and manufacturing staff
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering
- Up to two years of industry experience (entry-level / recent graduates encouraged)
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and project requirements
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality
- Must be a "U.S. Person" as defined in 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 (required)
- Comfortable performing shop-floor inspection and oversight as needed
Physical & Work Environment
- Primary work environment: office (design, CAD, documentation)
- Secondary work environment: manufacturing plant / shop floor (validation, verification, troubleshooting, testing)
- Typical physical activities may include grasping, standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, crawling, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, and required visual and auditory acuity
Compensation & Benefits
- Position pay range: $80,000—$95,000 USD (annual)
