What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a Jr Data Scientist to join a collaborative analytics team. You'll turn messy data into reliable models and actionable insights that support product and business decisions. This role emphasizes learning, scalable solutions, and close partnership with engineering to move prototypes into production.
- Analyze raw data: assess quality, cleanse, and structure datasets for downstream processing
- Design accurate, maintainable, and scalable predictive models
- Implement clustering, classification, and other machine‑learning techniques to solve business problems
- Work with engineers to productionize analytical prototypes and ensure model reliability
- Communicate findings and data-driven recommendations to non-technical stakeholders
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a quantitative field: Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar
- 1–2 years of experience in quantitative analytics, data modeling, or related roles
- Solid understanding of predictive modeling, machine learning, clustering, and classification algorithms
- Proficiency in at least one programming language used for analytics (Python preferred; C, C++, Java, or SQL acceptable)
- Familiarity with Big Data frameworks and visualization tools (examples: Cassandra, Hadoop, Spark, Tableau)
Nice-to-Have / Preferred
- Hands-on experience productionizing models with engineering teams
- Experience with distributed computing and large-scale data processing
- Strong data visualization and storytelling skills
- Internship or prior consulting/project work in analytics or software environments
Skills & Tools
- Python, SQL (or equivalent programming languages)
- Machine learning libraries and frameworks (scikit-learn, Spark ML, etc.)
- Big Data tooling (Hadoop, Spark, Cassandra)
- Visualization tools (Tableau or similar)
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
