What You’ll Do
This is an entry-level, in-office role supporting the capital team across regulatory and rating-agency capital work. You will help maintain and develop regulatory capital models (e.g., RBC, BSCR), support rating-agency model inputs (AM Best, S&P, Fitch), and assist with internal capital and solvency reporting. The role involves cross-functional coordination with Risk, Finance, Actuarial, and Reinsurance teams and provides exposure to capital management processes and model documentation.
- Assist with data gathering, validation, and documentation for quarterly and annual capital reporting.
- Support preparation of regulatory submissions and filings (BMA, NAIC — RBC, BSCR, ORSA).
- Help collect, reconcile, and respond to data requests for rating agency capital models (AM Best, S&P, Fitch).
- Analyze and summarize capital position, solvency metrics, and trends for internal stakeholders.
- Run and document ad-hoc “what‑if” scenario analyses to evaluate impacts on capital and solvency.
- Collaborate across ERM, Catastrophe & Exposure Management, Finance, Actuarial, and Ceded Reinsurance teams.
- Build familiarity with components of regulatory and rating agency models and assist with basic model queries under supervision.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, finance, economics, actuarial science, physical sciences, or a related field.
- 0–1 years of relevant experience (including internships or academic projects) in finance, insurance, or risk management.
- Strong analytical and numerical ability with strong attention to detail.
- Basic understanding or academic exposure to financial concepts, capital models, or risk frameworks.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Proactive learner who can manage multiple tasks under supervision.
- Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office (preferred).
- Interest in or basic proficiency with Python and/or SQL is a plus.
- Progress toward or interest in actuarial, insurance, or accounting qualifications is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
The client provides location-based pay ranges. Final offer will be commensurate with experience and location. This position is also eligible for an annual bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
- Omaha and Albany pay range: $51,500 - $62,300
- Chicago pay range: $57,000 - $68,500
- New York City pay range: $61,500 - $74,700

Workplace & Location
This is a 100% in-office position. Candidates must be able to work on-site at one of the designated offices during standard business hours. The client is hiring for the Omaha, NE office with consideration for candidates in Albany, NY; New York, NY; and Chicago, IL.
