Confidential Client is hiring a Jr. Business Banker (Hybrid) in Chicago, IL. This is an entry-level, full-time role in Accounting & Finance that provides hands-on exposure to commercial credit, underwriting, treasury management, and client-facing business banking activities while completing formal credit training. This hybrid role blends remote work with regular in-office collaboration in Chicago.
What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a motivated, client-focused Jr. Business Banker to support credit and treasury functions while learning the tools and processes used across the business banking team.
- Learn and use nCino and Numerated to support customer requests, loan renewals, underwriting steps, and portfolio management.
- Assist with commercial credit analysis: review credit reports, personal and business financial statements, tax returns, appraisals, property inspections, and environmental reports.
- Help prepare loan presentations and underwriting documentation for the proper approval authority.
- Provide timely communication and support to business banking team members and partners.
- Research prospective clients (internet research, bank/trade references) and prepare teams for sales calls and prospecting.
- Support portfolio managers to ensure covenants and controls are accurate and clear.
- Manage an assigned portfolio of business banking clients as experience grows.
- Assess and address clients’ credit, lending, and treasury management needs.
- Identify opportunities to deepen client relationships and increase product penetration.
- Partner with Branch Managers to generate referrals and pursue new business opportunities.
- Support business development through networking, prospecting, and community involvement.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and risk management standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 1+ years of credit analyst experience preferred (entry-level candidates with relevant coursework or internships are encouraged to apply).
- Strong analytical and organizational skills; attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable working with stakeholders at multiple levels and across teams.
- Self-motivated with strong time and project management capabilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Relationship-building and networking skills; professional presence in client and community settings.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $72,000 to $80,000 per year + commission.

- Pay and final offer consider factors such as education, experience, and certifications.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Hybrid work arrangement (combination of remote and in-office days). Specific in-office schedule will be discussed during the interview process.
- Typical office environment: frequent sitting, walking, standing; occasional stooping, kneeling, or balancing. Regular use of office equipment and interpersonal communication.
