What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Jr Automation Engineer to support automation design, implementation, testing, and maintenance across manufacturing and office environments. This role offers hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, sensors/actuators, and basic control strategies while working under senior engineering guidance.

  • Support analysis of existing processes and identify opportunities for automation
  • Assist in the design and development of automated systems (hardware, software, controls)
  • Document automation requirements and contribute to project timelines and resource tracking
  • Help select, integrate, and test sensors, actuators, controllers, and related software tools
  • Assist in implementation of control strategies and algorithms to improve performance and safety
  • Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLCs and HMIs under supervision
  • Conduct testing, validation, and data collection to ensure system reliability and quality
  • Provide basic technical support and troubleshooting with maintenance and operations teams
  • Support commissioning, startup, and integration of automated systems into production
  • Maintain accurate documentation (system specs, user manuals, change logs)
  • Follow applicable safety standards, codes, and regulations
  • Stay current with automation technologies and industry best practices

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related field
  • 0–2 years of automation experience (including internships, co‑ops, academic projects)
  • Basic familiarity with PLCs, embedded systems, robotics, and industrial networks (e.g., Ethernet/IP)
  • Experience or coursework with SCADA/HMI systems and basic CAD tools (SolidWorks, Autodesk Fusion 360)
  • Strong organizational skills, learning agility, teamwork, and problem‑solving ability
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Good hand dexterity and visual aptitude
  • Ability to work in office and manufacturing settings with moderate noise exposure

Estimated salary: $86,745 per year (estimated)


Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have

  • Practical exposure to PLC programming and HMI configuration
  • Experience assisting with system commissioning or validation
  • Any hands-on projects involving robotics, embedded systems, or industrial communications

Work Environment

  • Onsite work in manufacturing and office settings (Miami Lakes, FL)
  • Occasional collaboration across cross‑functional teams (operations, maintenance, vendors)
  • Standard safety protocols and PPE for manufacturing environments
