What You’ll Do
The Jr. Analytics Engineer is an entry-level engineering role supporting the development and maintenance of data solutions that enable business decision-making and reporting. This is a hands-on opportunity to grow technical skills in SQL, ETL, data modeling, and BI tools while working on a collaborative data team.
- Assist in building and maintaining efficient, reliable data pipelines using SQL and ETL tools
- Support integration, transformation, and validation of data from multiple sources
- Contribute to designing and maintaining data models that power reporting and analytics
- Help create and support dashboards and visualizations using BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Collaborate with analysts, stakeholders, and data owners to gather and document data requirements
- Monitor and validate data quality; troubleshoot data issues and participate in root-cause analysis
- Automate routine data workflows and support scripting (e.g., Python) to increase operational efficiency
- Document data processes, business logic, and analytics workflows; adopt version control and governance best practices
- Learn and apply analytics engineering workflows, testing, and deployment practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical field (Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business) or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated experience working with data through internships, coursework, or personal projects
- Foundational knowledge of SQL and eagerness to deepen technical querying and transformation skills
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) and data modeling concepts
- Exposure to scripting languages such as Python is a plus
- Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving skills, and effective communication
- Enthusiasm for a career in analytics engineering, data engineering, or business intelligence
Preferred Skills & Tools
- SQL (core requirement)
- ETL frameworks and data pipeline concepts
- Power BI or Tableau (dashboarding / reporting)
- Basic Python scripting for data tasks
- Data modeling (star schema / dimensional modeling) familiarity
- Version control (git) and documentation practices
Compensation & Location
- Base salary range: $75,000 - $78,250 per year (posted hiring range; actual offers will consider experience, skills, and market factors)
- Employment type: Full-time
- Work model: Hybrid — this role is based in the Portland, OR area. Candidates should reside within reasonable commuting distance and generally work on-site most days (typical team schedule noted in the posting).
- Travel: No regular travel required
