What You’ll Do

Confidential Client’s IT team is seeking an early-career Java Software Engineer to help build and modernize cloud-ready applications that power investment research and asset management workflows. You will work on-site in Tyler Park, NJ, and collaborate with engineers, architects, product owners, and QA in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality software.

• Develop, test, debug, and maintain Java-based services and applications.
• Contribute to microservices and REST API development.
• Participate in modernization efforts, including cloud migrations and automation (CI/CD).
• Support event-driven architectures and integrations.
• Troubleshoot issues across application stacks, including database queries and service interactions.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure reliability and maintainability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.

What We’re Looking For

Required qualifications (minimum):

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
• Foundational proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design fundamentals.
• Experience writing, testing, debugging, and maintaining code with attention to quality.
• Familiarity with relational databases and ability to write and troubleshoot SQL queries.
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and modern application development concepts.
• Experience using Git (or similar) in a collaborative environment.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Ability to learn new technologies and work effectively in an Agile team.
• Willingness and ability to work on site in Tyler Park, NJ.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Spring Framework / Spring Boot.
• Exposure to microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with unit testing tools (JUnit, Mockito).
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Knowledge of CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and containerization (Docker).
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
• Experience with front-end frameworks (Angular) or Python-based analytics tools.
• Passion for clean code, continuous improvement, and engineering best practices.
• Familiarity with responsible AI-assisted development practices under governance and security standards.

Compensation & Benefits

• Estimated base pay: $131,227 per year (estimated).
• This role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
