What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring a Java Software Engineer to contribute to full-stack and GenAI-enabled projects. You will join agile teams and own parts of the development lifecycle from design through production.
- Develop scalable web applications using Java (8/17), Spring Boot, SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend systems.
- Integrate messaging and streaming platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ) as needed.
- Implement front-end features using Angular (2+) or React.js, plus HTML5, CSS, JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Implement GenAI features and RAG pipelines using Spring AI and LangChain4j with vector DBs.
- Write clean, testable, and maintainable code; perform and participate in code reviews.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and production deployments; prioritize monitoring, observability, security, and cost/performance optimization.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation for APIs, deployments, and operations.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong programming skills in Java and JavaScript.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented design and data structures (Collections, Maps, Lists, Sets).
- Familiarity with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and basic SQL.
- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and testing practices.
- Ability to work in an Agile team and communicate effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field (preferred).
- 0–1 year practical Java coding experience (entry-level candidates welcome).
- Experience with Spring, Maven, and frontend frameworks (React.js or Angular).
- Familiarity with app servers and middleware (WebLogic, Tomcat), and messaging (RabbitMQ).
- Basic understanding of AI/LLM concepts; hands-on experience with Spring AI or LangChain4j is a plus.
- Experience building RAG applications or working with vector databases.
Compensation & Location
- Employment type: Full-time.
- Location: New York, NY (onsite / client location). Candidates must be open to relocation within the United States (examples: CA, TX, NY).
- Salary: $62,000–$80,000 per year (good-faith range provided by the employer).
