Role overview

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Java Software Engineer (Java Developer — GenAI focus) to join project-based engagements across the U.S. This position works on full-stack Java applications and GenAI integration projects, contributing to design, development, testing, and production delivery while following industry best practices.


What You’ll Do

  • Develop scalable web applications and APIs using Java (8/17) and Spring Boot.
  • Build front-end and client-facing features using React.js or Angular (2+), HTML5, CSS and TypeScript/JavaScript.
  • Work with relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL data stores; write efficient SQL queries and data-access code.
  • Implement event-driven components using Kafka or RabbitMQ where applicable.
  • Integrate AI/LLM features — design and implement RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) pipelines using Spring AI and LangChain4j with vector DBs.
  • Participate on Agile Scrum teams: plan, estimate, implement, test, review, and ship features.
  • Contribute to CI/CD, monitoring/observability, security best practices, and performance/cost optimization.
  • Perform code reviews, maintain technical documentation, and follow software engineering best practices for maintainability and testing.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Java and JavaScript.
  • Solid fundamentals in object-oriented programming and common data structures (Collections, Maps, Lists, Sets).
  • Basic SQL and experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience working on team-based development (Agile/Scrum).
  • Willingness to learn and apply AI/LLM integration techniques (embeddings, chunking, retrieval strategies).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field is a plus.
  • 0–1 years of practical Java development experience (entry level).
  • Experience with Spring, Maven, React.js, HTML, CSS.
  • Familiarity with application servers and middleware (WebLogic, Tomcat) and messaging (RabbitMQ).
  • Hands-on experience or coursework with AI/LLM concepts, Spring AI, LangChain4j, or vector databases and RAG solutions.

Location & Travel / Relocation

  • Authoritative job location: Florida (FL), United States.
  • Candidates must be open to relocation within the United States (examples: CA, TX, NY) depending on client project needs.
  • Employment is full-time and project/assignment based across Confidential Client’s engagements.

Compensation

  • Salary range: $62,000–$80,000 per year (base). Final pay will be based on experience, skills, and the specific assignment.
