What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking a Java Software Engineer to design, build, test, and operate scalable Spring Boot microservices and front-end components. You will work on full-stack features, LLM/RAG integrations, and cloud-native systems while following best practices used by third-party recruiting partners.

  • Develop and maintain production-grade Spring Boot microservices (Java 8/17).
  • Design and implement RESTful APIs, data models, and persistence layers (SQL & NoSQL).
  • Build front-end components using React.js or Angular and modern web tooling (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript).
  • Implement message-driven architectures and integrations (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
  • Implement RAG/LLM integration pipelines using Spring AI and LangChain4j with vector database connectivity.
  • Ship to production: CI/CD, monitoring/observability, security hardening, and cost/performance optimization.
  • Participate in code reviews, unit/integration testing, and Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for APIs, deployments, and runbooks.
  • Stay current on RAG/LLM best practices: chunking, embeddings, retrieval optimization, and reranking.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong programming experience with Java and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with object-oriented programming, data structures (Collections, Maps, Lists, Sets), and common APIs.
  • Practical knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and basic SQL.
  • Exposure to front-end frameworks (React.js or Angular) and modern web technologies (HTML5, CSS, TypeScript).
  • Comfortable working in an Agile/Scrum team and owning features end-to-end.
  • Willingness to learn and apply AI/LLM concepts and retrieval-augmented generation patterns.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 0–1 year practical Java development experience (early-career / entry-level candidates encouraged).
  • Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Maven, React.js, HTML/CSS.
  • Experience with messaging platforms (RabbitMQ, Kafka) and app servers (Tomcat, WebLogic).
  • Prior experience with Spring AI, LangChain4j, or vector databases for RAG applications.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and cloud-native patterns.

Compensation & Employment Details

  • Employment type: Full-time
  • Salary range (USD): $65,000 – $80,000 per year
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred (per client posting)
  • Experience: Entry-level to early-career candidates welcome
  • Confidential Client participates in E-Verify and may provide visa sponsorship where applicable.
