Overview
Confidential Client, a leader in IT Services and IT Consulting, is seeking an experienced Java Full Stack Engineer to join a delivery team focused on enterprise-scale applications. You’ll work with modern Java back-ends and component-based front ends to deliver reliable, secure solutions. This role involves development, testing, troubleshooting production issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement features and integrations.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with requirements capture via interviews and workshops; document stakeholder needs and specifications.
- Translate designs into high-quality code following defined SDLC processes.
- Develop and maintain Java-based services using Spring / Spring Boot and related frameworks.
- Build and enhance front-end components with Angular or React.
- Implement and consume RESTful web services and integrate microservices components.
- Execute unit and integration tests, report defects, and support QA cycles.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues; create and maintain runbooks and technical documentation.
- Support deployments and environment configurations (CI/CD pipelines, OpenShift/Kubernetes deployments).

- Bring an agile mindset and strong communication skills to daily standups and design discussions.
- Work across most areas of the SDLC — from requirements through deployment and production support.
- Proactively identify issues and propose solutions to improve stability and performance.
- Share knowledge and mentor peers to lift team capability.
Required Skills & Experience
- Professional experience in full-stack software engineering with strong Java skills.
- Hands-on experience with Angular or React for front-end development.
- Proficiency with Spring and Spring Boot frameworks.
- Minimum ~3 years of relevant software engineering experience (or equivalent education/experience).
- Familiarity with REST APIs and service-oriented architectures.
- Commitment to producing testable, maintainable code and documenting technical decisions.

Preferred Skills
- Experience with Microservices, Kafka or MQ-based messaging.
- Familiarity with OpenShift or Kubernetes deployments and containerized workloads.
- Knowledge of JPA, SQL (SQL Server/Oracle) or NoSQL (MongoDB).
- Experience with XML technologies (JAXB, XSLT), design patterns, and testing frameworks (JUnit).
- Prior exposure to performance tuning and debugging production systems.
Additional Details
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent is preferred; relevant progressive experience may be accepted in lieu of formal education.
- Position may require relocation and/or travel to project/client locations.
- This role is based in Hartford, CT; local or willing-to-relocate candidates preferred.
