What You’ll Do

Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is hiring entry-level Java Developers for IT projects based in New Jersey. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early-career software engineers who want hands-on experience and employer-paid technical training before starting project work.

Typical responsibilities:

• Collaborate with engineering teams to design, build, test, and maintain Java applications
• Apply object‑oriented analysis and design to implement features and fix defects
• Write clean, well-documented code and unit tests
• Participate in code reviews and follow established development processes
• Communicate progress and blockers clearly to team members and managers
• Learn new tools and frameworks during the employment-based technical training period

Qualifications

Minimum / required:

• Authorized to work in the United States
• Associate’s degree (minimum) completed; Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, MIS, IT, or a related field strongly preferred
• Foundational proficiency in object‑oriented programming (Java). Familiarity with .NET / C# is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Motivated to learn during an employer-led training program and apply new skills on client projects

Preferred:

• Coursework or project experience in Java, data structures, and software design
• Any internship or practical coding experience (class projects, open source, bootcamps)

Pre‑Employment Training

This role includes formal employment-based training before placement on projects:

• 6–8 weeks of technical training covering modern, in-demand technologies and best practices
• 2 weeks of soft-skills development (communication, teamwork, client-readiness)

The training is part of the onboarding process and prepares you for billable client work.

Compensation & Benefits

The source listing includes an estimated annual salary of $145,503 (estimated). Benefits include, but are not limited to:
