What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Java Developer to join their IT team in Atlanta, GA. In this role you’ll work on designing, building, testing, and supporting software systems across the full development lifecycle. This is a hands-on position that offers mentorship and exposure to production systems and SDLC best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs new and existing software systems and/or applications.
- Participate in requirements analysis, design sessions, and software design meetings.
- Consult with end users to prototype, refine, test and debug programs to meet business needs.
- Create technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated requirements.
- Identify and evaluate new technologies for potential implementation.
- Track and mitigate technical risk; help keep projects on schedule.
- Manage and communicate user requirements and provide timely project updates.
- Analyze code to find causes of errors and revise programs as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- 1+ years of professional experience as a Java developer or equivalent internship/co-op experience.
- Strong programming and troubleshooting skills focused on Java-based applications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field — or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with common SDLC activities (requirements, design, testing, debugging).
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
Preferred / Helpful Skills
- Experience with unit testing, debugging tools, and source control (e.g., Git).
- Exposure to building technical specifications and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Interest in learning new libraries, frameworks, and tools to improve delivery and maintainability.
Compensation & Location
- Location: Atlanta, GA (on-site or hybrid per client policy).
- Estimated salary range for this role: $63,140 - $82,000 per year. Actual pay will vary based on experience, location, and other job-related factors. This role may be eligible for performance-based bonus or incentive pay and typically includes benefits such as health insurance, retirement plan options, and paid time off.
