What You’ll Do

This Contract-to-Hire IT Technician will support day-to-day IT operations and cybersecurity initiatives for a confidential client working on Department of Defense (DoD) projects. Core responsibilities include:

• Provide hands-on technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, network connectivity, and end-user issues.
• Administer and support Microsoft cloud technologies and user accounts (Microsoft 365).
• Assist with cybersecurity controls, compliance efforts, and documentation.
• Support CMMC requirements and maintain a secure environment for DoD-related work.
• Help with basic network administration and general infrastructure support.
• Document incidents, resolutions, and system changes clearly and promptly.
• Collaborate with the IT team to improve processes and security posture.

Qualifications

Required

• U.S. Citizenship (required for DoD-related access).
• Strong troubleshooting skills and a customer-service mindset.
• Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking concepts.
• Ability to work onsite in Eaton Park, FL (Eaton Park / Lakeland area).
• Eagerness to learn and grow within an IT career.

Preferred

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and/or Microsoft Azure.
• General networking knowledge (TCP/IP, routing, switching).
• Familiarity with Microsoft tenant administration and cloud tools.
• Cybersecurity certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, or equivalent.
• Exposure to CMMC, NIST, DoD environments, or compliance-driven organizations.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay range: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour (hourly pay within this range depends on qualifications and experience).
• Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
• If eligible, temporary-role benefits may include medical, dental & vision; 401(k); voluntary life & AD&D; short/long-term disability; HSA; transportation benefits; EAP; and PTO — subject to plan terms and eligibility.

Work Environment & Location

• Workplace Type: Fully onsite in Eaton Park, FL (Lakeland area).
• Schedule: Primarily onsite; this is a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity with potential for long-term employment.
• Entry-level hires will work closely with the IT team; more experienced candidates may receive flexibility based on qualifications and business needs.
