What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an IT Support Specialist to provide high-quality, customer-focused technical support for a federal office in Syracuse, NY. You will be part of a team that supports end users across multiple channels and keeps devices and software running reliably.
- Deliver timely, professional IT support across channels (in-person, phone, email, ticketing system)
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues
- Install, configure, upgrade, troubleshoot and maintain devices including desktops, laptops, mobile phones, tablets, printers, copiers, scanners, teleconferencing equipment, desk phones and headsets
- Assist with basic network device configuration and routine updates/patches (hubs, routers, switches, servers)
- Perform password resets and account support
- Provide end‑user training and onboarding for routine applications and collaboration tools
- Support office moves, equipment setup, and reconnections
- Maintain clear documentation and escalate complex incidents to senior teams when required
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate combines technical skill with strong customer service and clear communication.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience providing general IT/support desk services
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), Teams, SharePoint and Adobe
- Strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems (including Server); Apple iOS and mobility experience preferred
- United States citizenship and ability to obtain adjudication for the required background investigation
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer-service skills
- Ability to document work clearly and follow established security and IT policies
