Position Overview

confidential client, a leader in Financial Services, is hiring an IT Software Engineer to join a delivery team that builds and supports high-volume, distributed software powering critical borrower and agent workflows. This role focuses on backend services in C#/.NET, contributions to Angular frontend apps, and working with both SQL and NoSQL datastores. Junior-level engineers and applicants with strong fundamentals are encouraged to apply.


What You’ll Do

  • Participate in solution design to meet a wide range of business needs.
  • Translate business requirements into technical requirements, design documents, and technical specifications.
  • Develop backend web and worker services in C#/.NET for high-volume workflows with attention to performance and maintainability.
  • Contribute to frontend features using TypeScript/Angular and ensure accessibility alignment (WCAG/Section 508).
  • Implement message-driven processing with safe retry and idempotent patterns.
  • Build, test, and run services in containerized environments (Docker) and support IaC-driven deployments.
  • Write efficient SQL, use Entity Framework + LINQ, and work with caching or NoSQL datastores as needed.
  • Participate in code reviews, write automated unit and integration tests, and follow secure-coding best practices.
  • Monitor production systems, diagnose issues using logs/tracing, and participate in on-call and release activities.
  • Produce clear documentation to support maintainability and operational support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Preferably 2+ years of professional software development experience; strong junior candidates are welcome.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a 6C federal security clearance are required due to contract requirements.
  • Must reside within 30 miles of Lincoln, NE to support the hybrid work model (see Work Model & Location).

Skills & Technologies

  • Strong C# and .NET experience for backend services
  • TypeScript/JavaScript and Angular for frontend work
  • SQL and relational modeling; experience with Entity Framework and LINQ
  • Familiarity with caching (e.g., Redis) and NoSQL datastores is a plus
  • Message-driven frameworks (NServiceBus or similar) a plus
  • Container tooling (Docker) and experience with AWS deployment/diagnostics
  • Git (branching, pull requests) and collaborative code-review practices
  • Test-driven development and automated testing practices
  • Secure coding and dependency/secret management aligned with NIST-like standards
  • Familiarity with observability (logs, tracing, monitoring tools)

Work Model & Location

confidential client operates a hybrid work model to balance collaboration and remote flexibility. For associates who live within 30 miles of Lincoln, NE, the standard hybrid schedule includes approximately 24 hours of in-office work per week.
