What You’ll Do

This entry-level IT Security Engineer will support a confidential client's cybersecurity program with emphasis on IT security operations and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) in a regulated medical-device and manufacturing environment. You'll gain hands-on experience with security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, and regulatory compliance (FDA guidance, ISO 13485, NIST).

  • Assist with security monitoring and alert triage using SIEM/XDR (example: Microsoft Sentinel, Defender)
  • Support incident response activities: triage, documentation, escalation and post-incident follow-up
  • Help maintain endpoint protection, vulnerability scanning, and patch tracking processes
  • Support development and upkeep of security policies, procedures, and standards
  • Assist with risk assessments for IT systems, applications, and medical devices; document risks and remediation plans
  • Help prepare audit evidence for FDA cybersecurity requirements, ISO 13485 / ISO 27001, and NIST Cybersecurity Framework
  • Support access control activities, user access reviews, and least-privilege enforcement
  • Assist with monitoring and basic tuning of data-protection tools (DLP, encryption, centralized logging)
  • Contribute to security awareness campaigns, phishing simulations, and user training
  • Maintain incident, risk, and compliance records; help produce security and compliance dashboards/reports

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Information Systems or a related field
  • OR 3–5 years of relevant experience in Cybersecurity, IT, or Information Systems in lieu of a degree
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. — this position is not eligible for employer visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience

  • Basic networking and OS knowledge (TCP/IP, Windows/Linux fundamentals)
  • Familiarity with information security concepts: CIA triad, access control models, vulnerability lifecycle
  • Exposure (academic or hands-on) to SIEM tools, vulnerability scanning, and identity/access management
  • Interest or experience in regulated industries, medical devices, healthcare technology, or manufacturing
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance concepts: NIST CSF, ISO 27001, audit controls and evidence gathering
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills

Compensation & Benefits

Disclosure as required by law: The annual salary range for this position is $69,900 - $108,300. Actual pay may vary based on geographic location, experience, education, and skills. This range reflects the confidential client’s good-faith estimate at the time of posting.
