What You’ll Do
Confidential client (IT industry) is hiring entry-level IT Engineers (2027 graduates) across software, platform, and network-focused teams. In this role you will solve business problems with technology—building scalable systems, contributing to cloud and platform engineering, or designing and maintaining network infrastructure.
- Translate requirements into maintainable designs and production-quality code.
- Build and validate data pipelines, serverless services, or consumer-facing platforms.
- Work with CI/CD tooling to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
- Operate and improve cloud platforms, applying configuration management and automation.
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot network infrastructure and support lifecycle planning.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, operations, security, and vendor partners.
- Document solutions, share learnings with the engineering community, and follow security best practices.
Responsibilities (examples by focus area)
Software Engineering
- Translate user stories into scalable application designs and high-quality, testable code.
- Use automated testing and CI/CD to ensure reliability and performance.
Platform Engineering
- Manage and harden cloud platforms using automation and configuration-as-code.
- Lead proof-of-concept work and help define platform standards and reusable components.
Network Engineering
- Design and maintain enterprise network systems; act as an escalation point for incidents.
- Define technical requirements and partner with suppliers to deliver network solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduating in Spring or Summer 2027 with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical/IT field.
- Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on programming experience (examples: Python, JavaScript, Java, C++, Go).
- Solid foundation in computer science fundamentals and software engineering practices.
- Basic understanding of network hardware and infrastructure (routers, switches, VPNs, servers).
- Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical colleagues.
- Comfortable debugging, iterating, and delivering production-ready solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, DevSecOps philosophies, and automated testing.
- Demonstrated creativity solving complex problems or building scalable systems.
Compensation & Schedule
- Full-time position.
- Starting pay / salary range (posted): $85,000 — $122,200 per year. Total rewards may include salary, bonus (if applicable), and benefits.
- Specific compensation will vary based on location, degree, role, skills, and experience.
Location, Mobility & Work Authorization
- Primary office: Cincinnati, OH (CINCINNATI GENERAL OFFICES).
- Candidates should be prepared to consider future relocation based on business needs and career development.
