What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking an IT Data Analyst to join its analytics team in Lincolnshire Woods, IL. In this role you will partner with business stakeholders, Data Engineering, and Data Science to translate business questions into validated analyses and actionable visualizations. This position emphasizes understanding the “why” behind requests, ensuring data accuracy, and delivering insights that drive decisions.

• Learn and map business processes end-to-end with stakeholders to identify meaningful KPIs and the data needed to analyze performance and root causes
• Partner with Data Engineering and Data Science to translate KPI and data requirements into validated data models and confirm they meet business objectives
• Scope analytical requests with stakeholders, clarify objectives, and identify the right metrics and data sources before analysis begins
• Create clear visualizations and dashboards (Power BI) including cash-flow projections, histograms, KPI and SLA reporting, and financial analysis
• Use SQL to independently mine and prepare data for analysis and visualization
• Validate reporting outputs against SAP as the ERP “source of truth,” identify discrepancies, and resolve issues before stakeholder distribution
• Assess and flag data quality issues; support data governance efforts and documentation (data dictionaries, mapping, normalization)
• Leverage AI-assisted analytics tools (e.g., Copilot for Power BI, generative BI tools) to accelerate insight generation and produce narrative summaries
• Build and demo prototypes to peers, business partners, and senior leaders; support change management for reporting projects
• Provide training and support for report usage, troubleshooting, and results interpretation
• Apply critical thinking and sound judgment to recommend solutions and next steps

What We’re Looking For

Candidates should demonstrate an entry-to-mid level of analytics experience with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

• Experience with Microsoft Power BI (required); DEX / deployment pipelines and dataflows strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of SAP for data validation and reconciliation
• Proficiency in SQL for data querying and exploration (entry-level to intermediate)
• Familiarity or exposure to AI-assisted analytics tools (Copilot, generative BI tools) is a plus
• Understanding of data analytics concepts: data dictionaries, data mapping, normalization, and data quality best practices
• Basic project management and business process modeling experience
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to explain technical issues to business and technical audiences
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines

Compensation & Benefits

• Estimated pay: $92,199 per year (estimated)
