What You’ll Do
This role is for a hands-on IT Administrator to manage and support a Microsoft-centric environment. You will be the on-site technical owner for day-to-day IT operations, end-user support, and core infrastructure maintenance.
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Servers (2016/2019/2022), workstations, printers, and network devices
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in Active Directory and Azure AD
- Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive
- Provide Level 1 & Level 2 helpdesk support via ticketing systems, email, and in-person troubleshooting
- Monitor network performance and manage firewalls, VPNs, DNS and DHCP settings
- Configure and maintain endpoint security (Windows Defender / Defender for Endpoint) and Microsoft Sentinel basics
- Manage device enrollment, compliance, and policies using Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager
- Implement and manage backups and disaster recovery (Windows Server Backup or Azure Backup)
- Apply Windows updates and patches via WSUS or Microsoft Update Management
- Maintain accurate documentation for infrastructure, configurations, and IT procedures
Required Skills & Experience
Entry-level to early-career candidates are welcome; this role is ideal for someone with a strong Microsoft infrastructure foundation and a problem-solving mindset.
- 0–3 years preferred; candidates with 2+ years administering Microsoft environments are competitive
- Windows Server administration (2016/2019/2022)
- Active Directory, Group Policy, and Azure AD administration
- Microsoft 365 administration: Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive
- Microsoft Intune & Endpoint Manager (device enrollment & compliance)
- Basic security monitoring: Windows Defender and Microsoft Sentinel fundamentals
- Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN troubleshooting
- Experience supporting end users (helpdesk ticketing systems) and excellent customer-service skills
- Strong verbal and written communication — able to explain technical issues to non-technical users
- Able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and reliably support a 100% on-site environment
Nice to Have
- Microsoft certifications (MD-102, AZ-104, MS-102)
- Azure Virtual Machines, Azure AD Connect experience
- PowerShell scripting and automation experience
- Virtualization: Hyper-V or Azure-based virtualization knowledge
- Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and advanced security tooling experience
- WSUS / Microsoft Update Management experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field — OR equivalent experience
- Prefer candidates with demonstrable Microsoft-environment administration experience
- Reliable, professional, and customer-focused with a willingness to learn and grow
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $50,000 — $65,000 per year (listed range provided by the hiring client)
