What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an iOS Software Engineer to design, build, and ship the consumer-facing mobile experience for a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connected product. You will own features end-to-end, collaborate with product and hardware teams, and help shape the mobile roadmap for a consumer electronics device that integrates with point-of-sale systems.
- Take technical ownership of features from design through release and maintenance
- Implement user-facing UI flows based on designs and product requirements
- Integrate and test Bluetooth Low Energy firmware interactions and mobile connectivity
- Build and maintain internal support and diagnostic tools for the device
- Write automated unit tests and participate in beta testing workflows
- Optimize app performance, reliability, and battery usage
- Maintain high code quality via code reviews, CI, and version control best practices
A Day in the Life
- Work with product managers and designers to translate mockups into shipping features
- Prototype custom UI flows and controls to improve usability
- Debug BLE connectivity issues and coordinate with firmware engineers
- Manage beta releases via TestFlight and gather actionable feedback
- Mentor peers, contribute to design discussions, and help prioritize technical debt
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience building and shipping iOS applications available on the App Store
- Strong knowledge of Swift (or Objective-C) and iOS SDK best practices
- Experience with Bluetooth Low Energy integration on iOS
- Familiarity with beta testing workflows (e.g., TestFlight) and crash reporting
- Experience with dependency managers such as CocoaPods (or Swift Package Manager)
- Experience with unit testing frameworks and automated testing practices
- Comfortable using version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills; able to work independently and in small teams
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Experience with continuous integration and code review tooling
- Familiarity with analytics and performance profiling tools for mobile
- Prior work on payments, POS integrations, or secure mobile workflows
- Experience with Objective-C codebases or interoperability with Swift
