Role overview

Confidential Client is seeking an Investment Banking Analyst (Technology coverage) to join their deal team in Newport Beach, CA. This entry-level to early-career role provides hands-on exposure to M&A and capital markets transactions, financial modeling, and client deliverables. This is an in-person position based in the Newport Beach, California office.

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain financial models (DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions) to support valuation and transaction execution.
• Prepare pitch books, confidential information memoranda (CIMs), management presentations, and client marketing materials.
• Conduct industry, company, and market research to support origination and execution efforts.
• Support due diligence, including data room organization and coordination with legal, accounting, and other advisors.
• Analyze financial statements and public filings to assess company performance and valuation drivers.
• Coordinate with senior bankers and internal teams to deliver high-quality outputs on schedule.

Skills & Attributes

• Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; demonstrated financial modeling ability.
• Solid understanding of accounting, corporate finance, and valuation methodologies.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate deliverables.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience (internship or full-time) in investment banking, corporate finance, or a related area.
• Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) and/or Series 79 and 63 preferred or the ability to obtain them within the employer’s required timeframes.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base pay: $72,000+ per year (employer-provided figure).
• Semi-annual bonus eligibility.
• Additional benefits and details, including any paid time off, health benefits, or retirement plans, will be provided by the Confidential Client during the interview or offer stage.
