Position Summary & What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring a Field Investigator (remote/telecommute with local work in Calwa, CA area). This entry-level, part-time investigator role supports insurance claims investigations (workers’ compensation, suspected fraud, liability) by conducting field work, collecting evidence, completing documentation, and keeping clients updated.

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct scene investigations and neighborhood canvases to collect photo/video evidence.
• Perform document signings and retrievals via home or site visits.
• Complete wellness checks and on-site information gathering.
• Prepare, dictate, and submit investigative reports and case updates daily.
• Review case materials before field activity and coordinate next steps independently.
• Track time and travel; submit mileage and expense reimbursements per policy.

Compensation & Work Arrangements

• Hourly rate: $22–$26 per hour (weekly pay; commensurate with experience).
• Travel time: compensated at 100% of regular hourly rate after standard commute deduction.
• Mileage reimbursement: $0.60 per mile for portal-to-portal and mobile surveillance mileage.
• Paid administrative time (report writing), and paid training at regular hourly rate.
• Part-time, flexible schedule with remote/home-based office expectations and field visits as required.

Required Qualifications

Investigator candidates must have:

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage cases with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work from a home-based office and maintain flexible hours.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
• Minimum auto insurance: $100,000 each person / $300,000 each accident bodily injury / $50,000 property damage.
• Smartphone, printer/scanner, and desktop/laptop with reliable internet.
• Ability to model professional behaviors aligned with Confidential Client’s values.

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field.
• Customer service experience.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English.
