What You’ll Do
The Inventory Specialist ensures equipment accuracy, availability, and readiness to support timely patient deliveries and service. You’ll manage incoming, stored, and outgoing inventory, perform equipment prep and testing, and collaborate across field operations, sales, and corporate teams to keep operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Ordering
- Order approved patient-specific equipment
- Maintain standard-stock levels using min/max controls
- Update the equipment ordering queue in Sales Pilot
Purchasing & Inventory Performance Metrics
- Partner with the Branch Manager to meet purchasing and inventory goals
- Run and review asset and PO reports to confirm inventory levels (biweekly)
- Identify aging units and coordinate transfers or utilization with other branches and ATPs
Warehouse Management & Organization
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse consistent with company policies and accreditation guidelines
- Perform parts installation, modifications, and retrofitting as required
- Clean, test, and document equipment prior to patient delivery per safety and quality standards
- Ensure proper storage to prevent damage, loss, or delays
- Conduct regular inventory counts and audits to ensure accuracy
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Operational Tech Support
- Communicate inventory status and updates to Office Assistants, Delivery Technicians, Sales, and corporate teams
- Provide proactive updates on availability or delays that could affect patient delivery timelines
- Serve as a backup Delivery Technician when needed (as directed and approved)
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Experience with inventory control, warehouse operations, or technical equipment handling is preferred
Skills Required
- Proficient computer skills and comfort using inventory systems (Sales Pilot or similar)
- Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and set up complex power chairs and mobility equipment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact effectively with patients
- High attention to detail; ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with regulatory/safety documentation standards
- Required to complete internal certification process
