What You’ll Do
This is a full-time, field-forward Inventory Forester role based near Tomahawk, WI (hybrid/remote-friendly model with heavy field work). Key responsibilities:
- Conduct forest inventory data collection with speed and accuracy according to project specifications
- Record detailed tree and plot measurements using tablets and internal software
- Make calls on tree diameters, heights, species, and product sections within sample plots
- Use sub‑meter GPS for plot location collection, monumentation, and boundary access
- Coordinate with property managers about hazards, access, and site-specific concerns
- Collaborate with other inventory foresters to improve efficiency and maintain safety
- Travel periodically for projects (may exceed 50% and include out-of-state work)
- Perform other duties as assigned to support projects and clients

Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Forestry or related field preferred
- Experience with GPS data collection and processing (sub‑meter GPS preferred)
- Familiarity with ESRI GIS software and mapping/data collection principles
- Competent with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and field data apps
- Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle suitable for fieldwork (mileage reimbursed)
- ATV and snowmobile certifications a plus
- Interest in emerging markets such as ecosystem services and forest carbon
- Comfortable working independently in varied field settings
Work Environment
This is a hybrid, field-centric role. Expect roughly 95% field work and 5% office work. Remote work is available with supervisor approval, but regular travel to the Tomahawk office and project sites is required for equipment access, team coordination, and training.
Compensation & Schedule
