Role Overview
This is an entry-level Inventory Associate role supporting inventory accuracy and cycle count processes at a confidential client in Richardson, TX. The position is full-time and includes structured training and close supervision. Estimated pay shown on the original posting: $48,241 per year (estimated). Employment is subject to applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate cycle counting activities across business areas and ensure proper priorities and deployment
- Monitor inventory activities and identify process issues and improvement opportunities
- Assist with variance analysis and root-cause investigations
- Report cycle count findings and support implementation of process improvements
- Track and follow up on corrective actions and process changes
- Communicate initiatives and results across business areas and to senior management
- Present cycle count findings, write-offs, and recommended improvements to leadership
- Provide training, support and mentoring to colleagues (including NCM Specialists) on inventory processes
- Facilitate regular team updates and meetings to share technical or business information
- Perform audits to confirm adherence to physical inventory processes and controls
Skills & Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of production planning fundamentals, scheduling, MRP techniques and manufacturing control systems
- Familiarity with warehouse, distribution, inventory control, and shipping/receiving practices
- Strong analytical skills to perform root cause analysis, interpret data, and resolve issues
- Basic math skills and attention to detail for accurate record keeping
- Ability to maintain detailed records of material movement and inventory adjustments
- Effective verbal and written communication with a variety of internal stakeholders
- Ability to lead and provide guidance to a small team or group of employees
- Comfortable using common business applications (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint)
- Typical experience: 0–2 years relevant experience
- Typical education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience (requirements may vary by geography)
Physical Demands
- Work is primarily in a normal office environment; may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or detailed data
- Frequent repetitive manual movements related to data entry and computer use
- Occasional on-floor audits that may require walking and visual inspection of physical inventory
Typical Schedule & Employment Type
- Full-time; standard daytime schedule (hours may vary by site and operational needs)
- Entry-level role with structured training and close supervision; limited decision-making authority expected while learning the role
