What You’ll Do

The Confidential Client is hiring an International Registered Nurse to join their outpatient dialysis team. This role is an entry-level designation in the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP) and focuses on safe, patient-centered hemodialysis care.

  • Perform comprehensive pre-, during-, and post-hemodialysis assessments; document findings and update treatment plans.
  • Deliver and coordinate safe hemodialysis treatment for assigned patients in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Administer medications per orders or approved algorithms and document rationale and effectiveness.
  • Initiate or assist with emergency responses and clinical escalation as needed.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment, modality options, transplant awareness, and basic self-care.
  • Delegate appropriate tasks to direct patient care staff (PCTs, LPN/LVNs) and supervise as assigned after meeting training/experience requirements.
  • Ensure correct specimen collection, processing, and shipping; follow up on missed or insufficient collections.
  • Participate in CAP, quality improvement, staff training, and orientation activities.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by Supervisor to support facility operations and patient outcomes.

What We’re Looking For

You should meet the practice and licensure requirements for Ohio and bring the following qualifications and skills:

  • Registered Nurse — graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Required: current, appropriate Ohio RN licensure (or documentation per the International RN addendum: CGFNS Visa Screen Certificate OR NCLEX pass letter OR Registered Nursing License in the state of intended employment).
  • Current CPR BLS certification (or successful completion prior to hire).
  • Minimum 9 months experience as an RN; minimum 3 months experience in chronic/acute hemodialysis as an RN preferred for supervisory assignments.
  • Entry-level to early-career candidates for nephrology nursing are welcome (less than 2 years nephrology experience acceptable).
  • Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and patient-education skills.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with patient care (frequent standing, occasional lifting/assisting up to facility limits).
  • Commitment to following state and federal nursing regulations and facility policies.
  • Demonstrated teamwork, communication, and willingness to participate in training and CAP requirements.

Role Details & Working Conditions

  • Location: East Cleveland, OH (on-site)
  • Employment type: Full-Time (Internship designation may apply per client program)
  • Patient population: End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) — outpatient hemodialysis
  • Physical demands: frequent standing, patient transfers/assistance (equipment and team assistance available), occasional movement of equipment up to facility limits
  • Environment: typical clinical setting; potential exposure to infectious materials — standard precautions and PPE required
  • Travel: occasional travel to training sites or other facilities may be required
  • Supervision: may provide oversight of PCTs, LPNs/LVNs, and other staff when assigned and after completion of required training/experience thresholds

International RN Addendum (if applicable)

For internationally educated nurses, the Confidential Client requires one of the following prior to employment in the state of intended practice:

  • CGFNS (Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools) Visa Screen Certificate, OR
  • NCLEX pass letter, OR
  • Registered Nursing License in the state of intended employment
