What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an Internal Audit and Financial Advisory Consultant to join their Chicago consultancy practice. As a consultant, you will work on cross-functional client engagements to assess risks, test controls, analyze data, and deliver actionable insights. You will receive structured onboarding and ongoing learning to build technical capability and consulting skills.
Key responsibilities:
- Perform internal audit and advisory work across Business Process Audit & Advisory and Technology Audit & Advisory engagements
- Assess controls, regulatory and compliance requirements, and operational/process risks
- Analyze structured and unstructured data to identify trends and root causes using tools such as Power BI, Python, or Alteryx
- Support documentation of observations, draft findings and client-ready reports
- Contribute to process improvement, automation, and AI-assisted analysis while maintaining strong human judgment in the loop
- Collaborate with project teams and client stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes on time
- Participate in training programs, mentorship and career-development activities
Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Finance, Information Systems, IT, MIS, or related field
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future
- Demonstrated ability using AI-enabled tools for analytical and research tasks (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, GenAI)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving aptitude
- Technical proficiency aligned to assigned capability (business process, technology, or analytics)
Preferred skills and experience:
- Familiarity with internal audit frameworks, testing methodologies, and risk assessment
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and data visualization tools such as Power BI
- Interest or entry-level experience with automation and analytics tools (Alteryx, MS Power Platform, Python)
- Basic understanding of software development lifecycle and technology controls
- Drive toward professional certification (e.g., CPA, CIA, CISA) is a plus

How We Work
Confidential Client operates a hybrid model that blends in-office and remote work to support client needs, team collaboration, and professional development. Project and team needs determine on-site requirements; travel to client sites (local or out-of-state) may be required.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary and total cash:
- Base salary range: $70,000 — $87,000 per year
- Bonus target opportunity: $2,000
- Estimated total cash range: $72,000 — $89,000 per year
