Position overview
Confidential Client is hiring an Internal Audit and Financial Advisory Consultant to join their Metro DC consulting team based in the McLean, VA area. This is a full-time, early-career consultant role focused on internal audit, financial advisory, and technology risk engagements. You will work on client teams to assess risks, analyze data, document observations, and deliver actionable insights while developing technical and consulting skills.
What You’ll Do
- Support internal audit and financial advisory engagements across business process and technology-focused projects
- Assess risks, test controls, and document findings aligned to audit objectives and regulatory frameworks
- Apply AI-enabled analysis and data interrogation to identify issues and produce insights
- Analyze data from multiple formats, develop visualizations (e.g., Power BI), and prepare client deliverables
- Contribute to client-facing deliverables, status updates, and presentations with strong written and verbal communication
- Collaborate with senior advisors and project teams; manage time and priorities effectively to meet project deadlines
- Participate in training, onboarding, and development programs to grow technical, professional, and leadership capabilities

- Assess technology risk including cybersecurity, data governance, software development practices, cloud, and AI risk
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (Accounting, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Finance, Information Systems, IT, MIS, or related fields)
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
- Demonstrated proficiency using AI tools for analytical and research tasks (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, GenAI)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Critical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to apply innovation to client engagements
- Technical proficiency aligned to the assigned capability area
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and data visualization tools such as Power BI
- Interest or entry-level experience with analytics and automation tools (e.g., Alteryx, MS Power Platform, Python)
- Entry-level familiarity with software development best practices is a plus

Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $75,000 - $92,000 per year (placement depends on experience, skills, and geographic work location)
- Bonus target opportunity: $2,000
- Estimated total cash range (base + bonus): $77,000 - $94,000 per year
- Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, FSA/HSA accounts, life and accident insurance, paid parental leave, short/long-term disability, 401(k) with employer match, Choice Time Off (CTO), and paid holidays. Benefits vary by location and eligibility.
Work Model & Location
- Hybrid model combining in-office and remote work to support client outcomes, team effectiveness, and learning
- Work may require client site presence and local or occasional out-of-state travel depending on project needs
- Primary job location: McLean, VA (Tysons Corner area)
