What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join a multi-discipline team working on nuclear power plant instrumentation and controls (I&C) projects. You will apply your engineering education while learning from experienced engineers and contributing to safe, modern nuclear power solutions.

  • Work on multi-discipline engineering teams integrating electrical, computer, and mechanical engineering with control theory.
  • Design and specify electronic process sensors, digital controllers, network topology, touchscreen displays, and related I&C equipment.
  • Prepare procurement specifications and perform engineering calculations for I&C components and systems.
  • Support field verification, site coordination, and design reviews at client, vendor, and plant locations.
  • Participate in mentoring, classroom-style technical training, and on-the-job learning to grow your engineering skills.

Qualifications

We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s of Science in Engineering with strong coursework in analog and digital control systems, systems engineering, mechatronics, or robotics.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Valued but not required:

  • Degree from an ABET EAC–accredited engineering program.
  • Related internship or co-op experience.
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or designation as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT).

AI & Automation Expectations

Confidential Client expects engineers to use modern tools and automation to improve workflows and reduce rework.

  • Use data, automation, and AI responsibly to streamline calculations, summarize technical documents, and draft design documentation—always applying engineering judgment and verification.
  • Programming or scripting (for example Python, MATLAB, or advanced Excel) to automate calculations, reporting, or data transformation is valued but not required.
  • Additional training or coursework in Computer Science, AI, or Software Engineering that helps apply automation or agentic AI to engineering problems is a plus.

Compensation range:

  • $62,998 - $90,586 (base salary range). Total compensation will include benefits and may include discretionary bonuses where eligible.
