Role Overview
Confidential Client is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer (Generation) — Associate to join their generation engineering team in Tulsa, OK. This entry-level engineering role supports project execution, equipment and system analysis, and standards compliance under the direction of senior engineers. The position is full-time and focused on delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective power generation solutions.
What You’ll Do
You will contribute to engineering projects and routine technical tasks while developing skills and competency in generation instrumentation and controls.
- Assist higher-level engineers in analysis, design, and troubleshooting of instrumentation, controls, and protection systems
- Learn and apply relevant codes, standards and regulatory requirements
- Support project planning activities (scheduling, CPM/PERT inputs) and prepare cost estimates using established procedures
- Help prepare technical reports, work packages, and documentation
- Coordinate with peers, technicians, and contractors to resolve routine engineering issues
- Participate in safety, reliability, and environmental improvement initiatives
- Present ideas, ask clarifying questions, and seek guidance to expand technical capabilities
Required & Preferred Qualifications
This is an entry-level role. Candidates should meet the minimum education and credential guidance below:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (or equivalent accredited degree). Degrees in Engineering Technology may qualify if candidate obtains a certified Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam is preferred and recommended.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take direction from senior staff
- Willingness to learn applicable standards, codes, and business processes related to generation instrumentation and controls
Note: higher grades/levels and compensation will be determined by education, experience, and demonstrated skills.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation is posted in a range depending on grade and experience:
- Engineer / Engineer Technologist Associate: $74,551 – $93,188 per year
- Engineer / Engineer Technologist: $87,633 – $109,542 per year
- Engineer / Engineer Technologist Sr: $98,993 – $128,688 per year

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Typical physical demand level: Sedentary (S) — sitting most of the time with occasional walking/standing; may require lifting up to 10 pounds occasionally.
