What You’ll Do
This role provides inpatient acute-care nursing for adults in a hospital setting. As an Inpatient Staff Registered Nurse (Nursing — Acute Care) you will:
- Deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to assigned patients on an acute-care unit
- Perform comprehensive assessments, monitor conditions, and implement nursing care plans
- Administer medications and treatments per policy and provider orders
- Document patient status, care delivered, and clinical progress in the medical record in a timely manner
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, therapists, social work, pharmacy)
- Follow safe patient-handling protocols and infection prevention procedures
- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and evidence-based practice initiatives
- Precept, coach, or mentor colleagues as assigned and support unit operations during your shift
Qualifications
Minimum requirements (applicants must meet one of the credential/experience paths below):
- English language proficiency consistent with 38 U.S.C. 7403(f) — ability to read, write, and speak basic English
- Graduate of a professional nursing program accredited at the time of completion by ACEN or CCNE, OR equivalent foreign nursing education with an accepted equivalency evaluation where required
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a professional nurse (RN) in a U.S. state, territory, commonwealth (e.g., Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia
- Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) Exception: candidates who meet education requirements but lack licensure may be appointed temporarily while pursuing licensure (see local policy for time limits and extensions)
- Grade/level placement is determined by education, experience, and demonstrated dimensions (Practice, Veteran/Patient-Driven Care, Leadership, Professional Development, Evidence-Based Practice/Research). Applicants should review the employer’s qualification standard for level-specific requirements.
Physical requirements and working conditions:
- Position requires typical nursing physical tasks: prolonged standing/walking, moderate lifting, bending, assisting patients, and use of safe patient handling equipment

- Compensation: $75,766 - $140,903 per year (range provided by the client)
- Status: Acute-care inpatient nursing role; shift pattern and schedule to be discussed during the interview process
Preferred / Additional Qualifications
- Higher-level degrees (BSN, MSN) and specialty experience may qualify candidates for higher grade/level placement per the client’s standards
- Demonstrated experience in acute-care inpatient settings is advantageous
- Ongoing professional development and participation in evidence-based practice support advancement
