What You’ll Do

  • Build real product features, APIs, internal tools, and reusable components that support Marketplace products in collaboration with senior engineers, product, and design.
  • Rapidly prototype new ideas and help evolve prototypes into minimum viable products (MVPs) based on user feedback.
  • Use and help build AI-powered features (document extraction, validation, agent-driven workflows, automation) and incorporate AI coding tools into your daily workflow.
  • Learn production engineering concepts: backend services, APIs, asynchronous workflows, data models, testing, and reliability best practices.
  • Join customer discovery sessions, observe product usage, and translate learning into software improvements.
  • Improve reliability and usability: triage bugs, reduce friction in workflows, and automate repetitive work.
  • Participate in code reviews, receive mentorship, and gradually take ownership of larger engineering work.

What We’re Looking For

  • 0–2 years of experience in software engineering, product engineering, or a related technical role — recent graduates and career changers encouraged.
  • Experience writing code in TypeScript, JavaScript, or Python (projects, internships, coursework, or professional work).
  • Familiarity with APIs, databases, and fundamental software engineering concepts.
  • Experience using AI coding tools or experimenting with LLMs and curiosity about applying AI in products.
  • At least one project you can discuss: the problem, your approach, and what you learned.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Comfort learning unfamiliar technologies, asking for help, and incorporating feedback.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with React, Node.js, SQL, or AWS.
  • Exposure to LLM APIs, agent frameworks, RAG, document processing, or workflow automation.
  • Side projects, open-source contributions, hackathon experience, or other tangible product launches.
  • Internship or early-career experience in startup, SaaS, fintech, or other fast-paced technical environments.
  • Interest in financial services, construction, real estate, payments, lending, or other complex B2B industries.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $80,000–$110,000 USD per year.
  • Compensation package may include equity (stock options), market-current medical/dental/vision coverage, unlimited PTO (US), 401(k) with match and expedited vesting, and a Learning Grant for professional development.
  • The listed pay range covers the full span of proficiency for this role. Total rewards include base pay plus additional benefits and equity.

Location & Travel

  • Position location: Nashville, TN.
  • Employees not based in Nashville are expected to travel to the Nashville office at least twice per year for company gatherings (e.g., Connect Week). Additional travel may be required depending on role and business needs.

How We Evaluate Success (First 6 Months)

  • You’ve shipped meaningful code or contributed to a working prototype used by the team or customers.
  • You’re comfortable navigating the Marketplace codebase and working with APIs and services.
  • You’ve contributed to an AI-powered feature or automation and developed good judgment around validating AI outputs.
  • You’re starting to own well-defined engineering work with decreasing guidance.
  • Your teammates view you as curious, dependable, collaborative, and coachable.
