What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an Infrastructure Engineer I to join an integrated product team delivering complex systems for national-security and aerospace customers. This is an onsite role based in West Valley City, UT. You will work under the guidance of product leads and senior engineers to design, build, test, deploy, and support Linux-based infrastructure and DevOps tooling across development and field environments.
- Participate on cross-functional teams using agile practices to design and deliver secure infrastructure.
- Triage, troubleshoot, and resolve systems and network issues in development, test, and production environments.
- Support system setup, configuration, and verification for field deployments once security clearances allow.
- Automate routine tasks using scripting and configuration management tools; contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment playbooks.
- Perform code reviews, unit integrations, and systems testing in collaboration with software and systems engineers.
- Document procedures, system configurations, and deployment steps to support reproducible operations.

Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field by start date.
- Experience with Python or another scripting language.
- Experience with C/C++ or another object-oriented programming language. (Experience may come from coursework, projects, internships, research, or on-the-job work.)
Qualifications We Prefer
- Hands-on experience with Linux system administration and shell scripting.
- Familiarity with networking protocols and concepts (OSI model, TCP/IP).
- Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt).
- Experience with container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes) and distributed systems.
- Experience verifying and validating software/system functionality.
- Basic understanding of telecommunications systems and/or signal processing.
- Ability to work non-standard hours and occasional weekends as needed.
- Existing U.S. security clearance with polygraph (active within last 24 months) is a plus.
Security & Eligibility
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required.
- Target clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph. An active clearance may be required from day 1 for some assignments.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range (good-faith estimate): $57,200 - $108,800 USD per year. Actual pay will depend on role, experience, location, and other factors.
- Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability programs, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, tuition assistance, paid time off, parental leave, and other offerings depending on business unit and eligibility.
- Relocation may be available if eligible.
Work Location & Schedule
- Onsite role primarily based in West Valley City, UT. Candidates should expect to work on-site for core responsibilities and may be required to attend in-person interview or onboarding steps.
- Some assignments may require travel for field deployments or testing.
