Responsibilities
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Information Security Analyst to support the Information Security Management function. This individual contributor will work under the guidance of the ISM Manager and assist with routine security, governance, risk, compliance, and incident response activities.
- Support cybersecurity incident management: document alerts, track actions, coordinate communications, keep records, and escalate per established procedures.
- Assist security risk assessments: gather inputs, document risks, update the risk register, track mitigations, and maintain supporting evidence.
- Support compliance programs (ISO 27001, NIST CSF, SOC 2, and similar): collect evidence, prepare for audits, update documentation, and track corrective actions.
- Maintain policies, procedures, standards, and audit artifacts to ensure accuracy and audit readiness.
- Monitor assigned tickets, alerts, and service requests; follow up and escalate when required.
- Coordinate with internal teams and third‑party providers to collect information and support assigned security tasks.
- Support security awareness and training efforts by tracking participation, gathering metrics, and maintaining records.
- Follow established playbooks and procedures; identify potential issues and escalate to senior analysts or the ISM Manager.
- Perform additional individual‑contributor tasks as assigned by the ISM Manager.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or 4 years of relevant experience in Cybersecurity/IT/Computer Science.
- 0–3 years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, IT support, compliance, risk management, audit support, or related fields.
- Foundational understanding of cybersecurity principles, information security controls, and risk management.
- Basic knowledge of security frameworks: ISO 27001, NIST CSF, SOC 2.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills; attention to detail for maintaining audit evidence.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, collaboration tools, ticketing systems, and documentation repositories.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction.
Preferred
- Relevant certifications such as Security+, CySA+, or ISO 27001-related certifications.
- Exposure to SIEM, ticketing, vulnerability management, GRC, or identity management tools.
- Internship, co‑op, military, or academic experience in cybersecurity or IT operations.
- Experience in manufacturing, operational technology (OT), or regulated environments.
Travel & PPE
- Travel: Up to 25% travel may be required.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Onsite roles may require PPE such as safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, bump caps, Tyvek suits, or respirators depending on the work area.
Physical & Work Environment
- Onsite position in a manufacturing/energy facility environment.
- Typical day: Sit 40% / Walk 30% / Stand 30%.
- Lifting: Rarely required (up to 10–35 lbs. only on rare occasions; team lift for heavier items).
