What You’ll Do
The Information Security Administrator I will help protect Confidential Client’s systems and data by supporting day-to-day security operations, monitoring alerts, assisting with incident response, and following defined security controls and procedures. This is an entry-level / early-career security role that works closely with IT and business teams to build operational discipline and technical depth.
- Monitor and triage security telemetry and alerts across firewalls, endpoint protection, secure email gateways, DLP, SIEM, and vulnerability management systems.
- Perform initial incident analysis, evidence collection and containment actions within defined authority; escalate complex incidents to senior security staff.
- Support identity and access management tasks, encryption controls, and secure configurations under established change control procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation of security events, investigations, and remediation actions.
- Assist with vulnerability scanning workflows and coordinate remediation tracking with IT teams.
- Participate in security reviews for systems, applications, and infrastructure changes; identify risks and recommend mitigations.
- Support audit, compliance, and regulatory evidence collection and controls validation.
- Contribute to security awareness and enablement activities and help embed security best practices across teams.
- Learn and apply emerging security technologies, including tools that use automation or advanced analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Security operations: monitor alerts, investigate suspicious activity, generate and maintain forensic artifacts, and document findings.
- Incident response & compliance support: perform initial containment and remediation steps, preserve evidence, and assist with regulatory audits.
- Continuous improvement: surface recurring issues, help implement control improvements, and support security program initiatives.
- Collaboration: partner with IT, risk, and business stakeholders to ensure changes are secure and to support secure deployments.
- Technology governance: evaluate and help manage new technologies in line with security standards and data governance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.
- 0–2 years of experience in IT, cybersecurity, or a technical support role with exposure to security monitoring, incident triage, or systems administration.
- Foundational knowledge of information security principles and common security controls (firewalls, EPP/EDR, SIEM, DLP, vulnerability scanning).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Teams, and Zoom.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, and a collaborative mindset.
Preferred / Helpful Experience & Certifications
- Entry-level security certification such as CompTIA Security+, ISC² Certified in Cybersecurity (CC), or similar.
- Hands-on exposure to SIEM platforms, endpoint detection & response (EDR), vulnerability management, or cloud security controls.
- Experience working in regulated or audit-driven environments.
- Basic familiarity with identity and access management processes and encryption practices.
