Core Responsibilities

The confidential client is seeking an Industrial Hygienist to perform industrial hygiene, occupational health, and safety support across technical facilities. Primary duties include:

  • Conduct industrial hygiene audits and field assessments in laboratories, shops, test areas, and support facilities.
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative exposure assessments for chemical, biological, and physical agents.
  • Review chemical, material, and equipment purchases to identify potential hazards and recommend controls.
  • Perform air and surface sampling for occupational exposure monitoring.
  • Conduct asbestos and lead paint assessments and sampling, including bulk sampling and air monitoring to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial hygiene sampling equipment.
  • Conduct indoor air quality (IAQ) evaluations.
  • Perform noise surveys and personal noise dosimetry.
  • Support respiratory protection program activities, including fit testing and user training.
  • Develop and deliver employee safety and health training.
  • Respond to employee health and safety concerns and support incident investigations.
  • Perform ergonomic assessments in office, laboratory, and industrial environments; recommend corrective controls.
  • Conduct confined space evaluations and hazard assessments.
  • Evaluate and certify local exhaust ventilation systems including fume hoods and extractors.
  • Document findings clearly and professionally using Microsoft Office and industrial hygiene (IH) data management tools.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, science, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Approximately 3–5 years of relevant experience preferred; entry-level candidates with strong technical background and growth potential may be considered.
  • Working knowledge of occupational safety and health standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and general computer applications.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, adapt as workload changes, and work with minimal oversight.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with industrial hygiene sampling, exposure assessments, noise surveys, respiratory protection, ergonomics, IAQ, asbestos sampling, or confined space evaluations.
  • Experience in laboratory, research, aerospace, manufacturing, government, or technical facility environments.
  • Familiarity with IH data management systems.
  • Interest in pursuing professional certification (CIH, CSP, or related credentials).

Compensation & Employment Details

  • Estimated compensation: $118,976 per year (estimated). Final pay will be based on experience, certifications, and internal equity.
  • Employment type: Full-time.
  • Location: Edwards, CA (on-site / facility support).
