What You’ll Do

This contract role supports manufacturing and production operations by applying industrial engineering methods and lean principles to improve throughput, stability and quality.

  • Apply basic industrial engineering concepts, techniques and decision tools to manufacturing and service operations
  • Develop and maintain models, databases and spreadsheets for data analysis (statistics, operations research, engineering economics)
  • Observe build processes, perform work observations and time studies to document current time standards
  • Recommend process improvements and deploy standard processes using Lean methodology
  • Analyze value streams for capability, capacity, throughput, workflow and factory layout
  • Support creation of time standards to enable scheduling software and improve production planning
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering and production-support teams to identify risks and root causes for quality and safety issues

What We’re Looking For

Minimum required qualifications — candidates must meet all of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering or equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • Exposure to or experience in engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, or production environments
  • Experience performing work observations and time studies
  • Self-starter with strong collaboration and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years working with Lean Manufacturing and knowledge of lean principles
  • Experience developing and deploying standard processes across production teams
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively

Typical Day / Project Work

  • Validate current hours per order/job and document existing performance
  • Create and validate new time standards to support implementation of scheduling software
  • Analyze value-added vs non-value-added activities and recommend process changes
  • Conduct observations across shifts (may require occasional evening or night observations)
  • Elevate quality and safety hazards for further root-cause investigation and corrective action

Role Details

  • Compensation: $35–$42 per hour (contract)
  • Duration: 4–5 months (contract)
  • Employment type: Full-time (contract)
  • Location: Pecan Way Terrace, SC — 100% onsite
  • Shifts: Primarily 1st shift; some observations across all 3 shifts may be required
