What You’ll Do

This Industrial Engineer I role focuses on improving manufacturing processes, reducing operating costs, and supporting capital and continuous improvement projects across the client’s Concrete Reinforcing Products business unit.

• Identify, develop, justify, implement, and follow up on projects that improve safety, quality, productivity and reduce operating cost.
• Gather and analyze manufacturing data to evaluate and improve current processes.
• Develop, plan, assign, check and direct standard work methods; ensure documentation and visual standards are current.
• Maintain costing data used by sales and the Master Scheduler on a quarterly basis.
• Establish machine performance and quality standards; provide mechanical improvement ideas to the engineering group.
• Assist General Managers with Capital Appropriations and help manage capital improvement projects with focus on accuracy and payback.
• Investigate, test, and implement new technology in plant operations.
• Use Activity Based Costing (ABC), financial and P&L data to target improvement opportunities.
• Reduce setup and process-related costs; perform special analyses and process-improvement projects as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Who You Are / Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred.
• Entry level to three years of relevant experience; internships strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with industrial/process engineering principles and manufacturing environments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
• Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
• Initiative and resourcefulness in researching and resolving issues.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

Tools & Equipment

• Regular use of AutoCAD, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Maximo, and data warehouse systems.
• Use of calculators and standard office equipment; occasional use of hand tools and heavy equipment (forklifts, scissor lifts, JLG lifts).
• Interaction with manufacturing machinery and testing devices (air monitors, light meters, pH testers, multimeters); measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.

Physical Demands

The role requires the ability to communicate clearly, stand, sit, walk and perform repetitive movements while performing analyses and evaluations. Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing and lifting up to 40 lbs may be required. Visual demands include near/far acuity, color distinction, depth perception and adaptation to changing lighting.

Work Environment

Work is typically in an industrial manufacturing plant environment with regular exposure to moving machinery and elevated noise levels (hearing protection required). Employees may frequently encounter heat or cold and occasionally wet/humid conditions, dust, vibration, and contact with oil/grease/solvents. Proper PPE and adherence to safety procedures are required.

• Estimated base pay (as posted): $42,513 per year — estimated
