Role overview

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Industrial Engineer (Production Control / Production Engineer I) to join their production management team in Clarksville, TN. This full-time, exempt role supports production scheduling, capacity analysis, line balance, KPI implementation, and monthly production closing. Core business hours are Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, and the position reports to the Production Control Unit Manager.


What you’ll do

  • Support a "Safety Always" culture and promote workplace health and safety improvements
  • Apply "Quality First" thinking to reduce defects and improve processes
  • Learn the full tire manufacturing process and maintain a "big picture" view within the first 90 days
  • Collaborate with technicians, operators and schedulers to drive uptime and process improvements
  • Analyze production capacity, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvements
  • Improve line balance, operation rates, and productivity across areas
  • Create daily and weekly production schedules based on demand, inventory, and constraints
  • Perform routine engineering tasks: basic plans, calculations, and cost estimates using standard practices
  • Support KPI definition and tracking for the production team and assist with monthly production closing
  • Participate in value stream mapping and continuous improvement activities to eliminate waste
  • Troubleshoot production issues promptly and document corrective actions
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and support internal audits
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet production goals

Who we’re looking for (minimum qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science, engineering or related field (required)
  • Preferred: degree in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or advanced related degree
  • 0+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing (entry-level candidates welcome)
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Willingness to learn production systems and work cooperatively in a manufacturing environment

Skills & knowledge

  • Familiarity with production scheduling, line balancing and capacity analysis
  • Knowledge of production and processing methods, quality control and cost drivers
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine maintenance concepts
  • Strong critical thinking, reading comprehension and active listening skills
  • Ability to monitor performance and recommend/process corrective actions
  • Comfortable using office productivity tools and basic engineering calculation methods
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to keep work "audit ready"

Physical demands & work environment

  • Frequent movement across the manufacturing campus and production areas; occasional stair use
  • Ability to remain stationary ~50% of the time and operate a computer and office equipment
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds
  • TP is a 24/7 operation; some schedule flexibility may be needed to meet deadlines

Compensation & benefits

  • Estimated salary: $66,292 per year (estimated)
