Position Overview

This is a 12–24 month contract (may extend) supporting manufacturing operations at a confidential client driveline/drivetrain facility in Blackhawk Village, IA. This is an onsite, shop-floor manufacturing role on 1st shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) with minimal overtime. Estimated pay: $91,197 per year (estimated).

What You’ll Do

You will support production and continuous improvement activities on the shop floor, working closely with operations and cross-functional teams to increase efficiency, quality, and throughput.

• Support manufacturing and distribution operations with a focus on quality improvement and process efficiency
• Conduct time studies and work measurement analyses for incentive pay systems (e.g., CIPP)
• Develop and refine manufacturing methods, tooling and tool design
• Participate in total preventative maintenance and facilities management activities
• Prepare clear technical documentation and standard work (technical writing)
• Provide hands-on shop-floor support and problem solving (~60% of time on feet)
• Use Microsoft Office and other relevant software to analyze data and prepare reports
• Work flexible hours as needed to support manufacturing schedules

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• 2+ years’ experience as a Manufacturing / Industrial Engineer preferred; entry-level candidates with manufacturing internships or relevant academic experience will be considered
• Experience with manufacturing processes, tooling, quality systems, and facilities
• Demonstrated experience in time studies, work measurement, or incentive pay systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to produce clear procedures and reports
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Physical & Work Environment

• Onsite only — this is a shop-floor position; candidates must be comfortable in a factory environment
• Be on your feet roughly 60% of the workday
• Able to lift up to 10 lbs
• Metatarsal safety boots required on day one
• May drive a client-owned indoor vehicle ("Gator") between connected facility areas after completing safety training; occasional travel (personal vehicle) to other client facilities within ~20 miles
• Business casual dress code (with required PPE for shop floor)
