What You’ll Do

As an Import Transportation Coordinator (entry-level), you will support inbound global transportation operations to ensure timely, cost-effective movement of imported goods. You will work closely with external carriers and internal teams to resolve exceptions, maintain shipping data, and identify opportunities to improve service and reduce costs.

  • Coordinate daily communication with ocean carriers, drayage providers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with carrier selection and transportation planning to support cost-effective imports.
  • Maintain transportation rates, routing guides, and logistics data in company systems.
  • Analyze transportation costs and identify opportunities for process improvements and savings.
  • Support freight-claim investigations and resolution processes.
  • Partner with Accounts Payable to review freight invoices and verify billing accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing, Customer Service, Finance, and Trade Compliance on import- and transportation-related initiatives.
  • Help resolve shipment delays, service issues, and transportation exceptions.
  • Maintain logistics records and support daily shipment processing.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects that enhance supply chain performance and customer service.

Qualifications

Preferred education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, International Business, Finance, Economics, or related field preferred. Recent graduates encouraged to apply.

Required / preferred skills

  • Internship, coursework, or experience related to supply chain, logistics, transportation, operations, or international business is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including intermediate to advanced Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated with a desire to learn and grow professionally.
  • Experience with ERP or transportation systems is beneficial but not required.
