Overview

The Immigration Consultant (Entry Level) role supports high‑volume immigration casework and day‑to‑day client service for a confidential client in the Legal industry. Reporting to an Associate or Senior Associate, you will focus on case production, routine client communication, and learning procedural requirements across a wide variety of immigration filings. This is an early‑to‑mid‑career position that emphasizes accuracy, organization, and the ability to work within established workflows and case‑management systems.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for routine client communications; responds professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Manage full lifecycle of immigration filings using established templates and the firm’s case management system (initiate, assemble, prepare, and file).
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scanning, filing, and maintaining supporting documentation to ensure efficient case progression.
  • Maintain accurate and complete case records, ensuring data integrity and responsiveness to attorney and client requests.
  • Use reports and dashboards to prioritize high volumes of work and meet deadlines.
  • Conduct or support initial case assessments and gather required client documentation (forms, evidence, biographical data).
  • Draft immigration forms and supporting letters for multiple case types (e.g., employment‑based NIV, IV, PERM).
  • Coordinate with government agencies (USCIS, DOL, DOS) to track status, respond to RFEs, and monitor deadlines.
  • Build foundational paralegal knowledge across immigration practice areas and develop procedural mastery.
  • Support internal training and process improvement initiatives; escalate operational or compliance issues promptly to legal team leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree OR 0–5 years of business immigration experience OR a combination of education/experience demonstrating readiness for the role.
  • Strong attention to detail; accurately produce compliant forms, letters, and documentation.
  • Clear, client‑focused communication skills for routine inquiries and updates.
  • Proven organization and time‑management skills; comfortable prioritizing high volumes of work using dashboards and reports.
  • Learning agility: quickly absorb new processes, systems, and immigration requirements.
  • Technical proficiency with case management and document handling tools.
  • Strong document and data management skills; maintain clean, complete case records.
  • Problem solving and good judgment: conduct basic assessments and escalate appropriately.
  • Team player who collaborates reliably with attorneys and colleagues.
  • Professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive client information.
  • Ability to follow established workflows, templates, and filing protocols consistently.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated pay: $57,889 per year (estimated).
  • Full‑time, permanent role.
  • Benefits typically include medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance; discretionary annual bonus; sick time; unlimited vacation; and 401(k) with company match. (Final benefits and eligibility determined by the confidential client.)
