Key Responsibilities

This Clinical Administrative role supports the Radiology Reading Room and wider clinical teams. Primary duties include:

  • Serve as a central point of coordination for the radiology reading room—answer phones, triage requests, and communicate with radiologists, providers, residents, and clinical staff.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments, follow-ups, internal/external testing, labs, and surgery-related bookings.
  • Assist with scheduling template creation and updates.
  • Verify patient demographics and insurance; support revenue cycle tasks such as referral management and insurance verification.
  • Prepare and upload medical records and documentation into the EMR; ensure radiology orders are complete and aligned with clinical indications.
  • Monitor patient flow and proactively communicate delays or issues to patients and providers.
  • Support billing tasks including charge entry and reconciliation; collect copayments when required.
  • Complete general office operations: faxing, filing, mail distribution, ordering supplies, calendar management, and clerical support to physicians.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and help troubleshoot workflow/process problems.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum two (2) years customer service or patient support experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and scheduling applications.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of medical information (HIPAA awareness).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Prior hospital or radiology department experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Bilingual skills (preferred).

Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work collaboratively across teams.
  • Familiarity with third-party billing and basic revenue cycle processes.
  • Comfortable using computers and EMR systems; fine manual dexterity for keyboard work.

Physical Requirements & Work Setting

  • Frequent sitting with occasional standing; occasional lifting of 10–15 lbs.
  • Ability to see computer screens and read reports; hear instructions from clinical staff.
  • Some potential exposure to hazardous materials (blood, etc.)—standard precautions required.
  • This role is onsite in the radiology reading room.

Compensation & Schedule

  • Pay range: $18.81 - $23.51 per hour (based on full-time equivalent).
  • Estimated annual midpoint: ~$51,010 (for informational purposes).
  • Schedule: Option of 9:00 AM–5:30 PM or 9:30 AM–6:00 PM; some flexibility possible.
  • Employment type: Full-time.
