Overview

Confidential Client is hiring entry-level associates for an in-office IAP Workers Compensation training program in Rancho Cordova, CA. This role is designed for candidates seeking paid, hands-on training and a pathway into claims adjusting. The position begins with a 4-week concept-based learning program followed by onboarding and supervised on-the-job training. Mentors and managers support career progression and professional development.

What You’ll Do

  • Attend and successfully complete the designated claims professional training program.
  • Process and respond to incoming mail, emails and claim documents according to claim status.
  • Communicate professionally with injured workers, employers, medical providers, attorneys, and carrier representatives via phone, video, and email.
  • Investigate new and existing workers’ compensation claims by gathering medical records, employer reports, witness statements, and other relevant documentation.
  • Verify policy coverage, employer/employee relationships, and identify potential subrogation or fraud indicators.
  • Determine coverage, compensability, and appropriate benefits per jurisdictional and carrier guidelines.
  • Document and code claim file activity; prepare detailed reports of findings and recommendations.
  • Administer indemnity and medical benefits, maintain calendared action items, and ensure state compliance.
  • Participate in virtual and in-person meetings, claim reviews, and training sessions.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School diploma or GED required.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree and/or 2 years of customer service experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • No prior claims experience required — this is an entry-level trainee program.

Work Environment & Requirements

  • In-office role based in Rancho Cordova, CA.
  • Mental: clear conceptual thinking, judgment, problem solving, ability to manage stress and multiple priorities.
  • Physical: computer keyboarding.
  • Auditory/Visual: hearing, vision and talking.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting pay for candidates hired in California: $27.69 per hour (jurisdiction-specific starting pay as stated by the client).
