About the Role
Confidential Client is hiring an HVAC Purchasing Assistant to support purchasing operations for 15+ active commercial construction projects. This is an in-office, full-time role based in Upper Marlboro, MD. You will work with the Purchasing Manager to source materials, manage supplier relationships, process orders, and maintain purchasing records — a strong opportunity to train into a full Purchasing Manager role.
- Learn common plumbing and mechanical materials and components
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors
- Receive and process daily foreman orders to support field teams
- Review and process bulk orders for accuracy and cost savings
- Use accounting/purchasing systems to maintain documentation and purchase history
- Support continuous improvements in purchasing processes and cost controls
Required Qualifications
- Able to pass drug screening and background check
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Able to provide administrative/office support across departments as needed
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience in commercial construction, plumbing/mechanical contracting, or materials purchasing is preferred
- Entry-level candidates with strong motivation to learn the industry are encouraged to apply
Pay & Benefits
- $60,000 – $75,000 per year, plus performance-based bonuses
- 2 weeks paid vacation + paid holidays
