What You’ll Do
The Confidential Client is hiring an HVAC Project Engineer in Orchard Park, NY to provide technical and administrative support for commercial HVAC, mechanical, and piping construction projects. This role supports Project Managers and field teams with documentation, scheduling, procurement, cost tracking, and technical coordination to help projects finish on time, on budget, and to spec.
- Assist Project Managers with mechanical construction project administration
- Prepare, track, and maintain contracts, drawings, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and other project documentation
- Maintain accurate project files and support project closeout activities (punch lists, turnover docs)
- Help develop and maintain project schedules and short-term look-ahead plans
- Coordinate with field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to keep projects on schedule
- Monitor progress, track material deliveries, and support procurement and logistics
- Support budgeting, forecasting, invoice review, and cost tracking
- Help prepare change order pricing and documentation
- Review drawings/specifications and coordinate technical clarifications with engineers and consultants
- Support quality control and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
Who You Are (Qualifications & Experience)
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
- Prior experience or internships in mechanical construction, HVAC, or piping projects preferred (entry-level candidates with relevant internships encouraged to apply)
- Familiarity with construction documentation and project processes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction management software is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites in the Western New York area as needed

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Combination of office work and visits to active construction sites
- Frequent interaction with project teams, clients, and vendors
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use a computer for extended periods
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds; may require visits to rooftops and mechanical spaces
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive annual salary: $60,000 to $80,000
